Macroeconomic Modeling:
Linear Quadratic Differential Games and Applications
The class is intended to support the learning process of the PhD students as well as to increase their competencies through acquaintance with the latest advances in the field. The total study load is planned to amount to 30 lecture hours.
The main objective of the PhD class is to provide knowledge on the latest advances in the theory of linear quadratic differential games as well as on its applications in different fields. Due to the diversity of its applications to the modelling of processes and phenomena as well as to the solving of optimization problems the class is intended for PhD students working in different scientific fields, such as Ecology, Energy Efficiency, Logistics Efficiency, Economics, Engineering Sciences, etc
Entrepreneurship
The purpose of this Ph.D. course is to introduce a number of theoretical perspectives and common methodological approaches to the study of entrepreneurial phenomena as well as to emphasize ongoing debate on research perspectives and methodologies in entrepreneurship reserach. Topics covered in the course include: a theoretical overview of entrepreneurship, psychology of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial opportunities, entrepreneurial process, entrepreneurial decision making, corporate entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, international entrepreneurship, new ventures, and family business. Doctoral students will be trained to search, study, review and critique scientific articles and to generate research opportunities. At the end of the course, each Ph.D. student is required to present a research paper related to one of the aforementioned topics. Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to develop and communicate a contribution in the form of research report that could potentially add to extant literature in the field of entrepreneurship.
Leadership in a Multicultural Environment
The purpose of the Leadership in Multicultural Environment PhD course is to introduce a number of theoretical perspectives and common methodological approaches to the study of leadership phenomena as well as to emphasize ongoing debate on research perspectives and methodologies in leadership research. The course presents leadership and management theories/concepts that have emerged over the past several decades. The course aims to introduce leading experts and top managers as guest lecturers who share and debate with the students their own perception of leadership. Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to develop and communicate a contribution in the form of research report that could potentially add to extant literature in the field of leadership. Through a series of lectures, guided interaction, and group exercises, students will explore the principles of leadership and learn to develop individual and group leadership skills.
National and Organizational Cultures:
The National and Organizational Cultures PhD course aims: a) to introduce a number of theoretical perspectives and common methodological approaches for studying national and organizational cultures (G. Hofstede; F. Trompenaars, C. Hampden-Turner; Cameron, K. Quinn, R.) b) to emphasize on basic principles, perspectives and methodologies in research on the topics; c) to introduce basic skills of collecting and processing primary empirical information; d) to test practically the process of gathering and processing data, followed by calculation of the cultural dimension values. Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to implement the a/m methods in their practice.
